Event Recap
T&L CoP has joined hands with the Centre for eLearning Innovation and Technology (ELITE) and the Knowledge & Education Exchange Platform (KEEP) to organise the first “Community of Practice Symposium of Education Innovation and Technology”. This one-day online event was successfully held on 2 June 2022 and attracted more than 1,200 registrants from the Hong Kong and Asian education communities, as well as the edtech sector.
The symposium began with the opening remarks addressed by Professor Wai-yin POON (Pro-Vice-Chancellor of the CUHK), Professor Irwin KING (Director ELITE), and Professor Paul LAM (Principal Investigator of T&L CoP). Following the opening ceremony, there were keynote presentation and two panel discussions emphasized on the main theme of the symposium - Metaverse for Education. Distinguished educators and educational technologists gathered together to generate fruitful discussions about how metaverse can be applied to facilitate educational innovation.
The afternoon session of the symposium consisted of five parallel Zoom rooms, which hosted two hands-on tutorials and thirty-six live oral presentations on a wide range of educational technologies and learning topics: Metaverse for Education, Immersive Technologies for Education, Gamification & Game-based Learning, Online, Blended & Hybrid Learning, Platforms & Apps for Education, Pedagogical Change, Peer Learning, Students-as-Partners, Student Learning, Global Perspectives in Education, and Upcoming Trends in Education. Apart from the live sessions, participants were also invited to watch 24 pre-recorded presentations on the KEEPCourse Platform. With a rich program, the symposium has ended in the blink of an eye.
The recordings of all the symposium sessions will be available soon on the KEEPCourse Platform.
