Abstract
Pedagogic research plays a crucial role in shaping effective teaching practices, fostering student engagement, and influencing institutional change. This 90-minute interactive workshop, led by Professor Jennie Winter, will provide an in-depth exploration of leading and managing pedagogic research to enhance teaching and learning impact.Â
Drawing upon extensive experience in academic development, sustainability education, and curriculum innovation, this workshop will equip participants with the tools to design and implement pedagogic research in response to their institutional priorities. Key topics include identifying research priorities, securing institutional and external support, and translating findings into meaningful educational change.Â
The session will adopt a blended approach, combining expert insights, case studies, and interactive activities. Participants will explore best practices for fostering collaborative research cultures and discuss strategies for integrating research-informed teaching into their practice. A structured interactive segment will provide participants with the opportunity to reflect on their own pedagogic research interests, engage in guided discussion with peers, and develop an initial plan for research-led enhancements in their teaching. The session will conclude with practical advice on disseminating research, influencing policy, and navigating challenges in pedagogic research leadership.
