Online learning and e-learning have become hot topics due to the suspension of schools and university classroom teaching caused by the spread of coronavirus in Hong Kong. Most teachers are now using Zoom for interactive classes and Panopto for lecture recording. But there are plenty more options for the students to study and learn at home! I would like to share with you my experience in using first, micro-modules coupled with Blackboard online discussion forums as a way to extend the tutorial discussions; then second, using a commercial game to allow students to play and learn things that can supplement textbook reading. For this semester, I have also used Zoom and YouTube to live broadcast myself playing the game and at the same time explain the meaning behind it. Let’s work and think together to make use of this crisis as an opportunity to test out more creative forms of learning!
